Description: The Teignmouth Poetry Festival 2017 enters its fourth year with a reputation for warm informality already well-established. The programme includes favourites like ‘Poetry in Other Languages’ and a lively opener where folk music shares the stage with new poetry on historical themes. Four workshops will be led by leading poetry names. New this year are ‘The Festival Debate’ (motion: there is no point in writing poetry which people don’t understand), and ‘Desert Island Poems’. Festival headliners are Jo Shapcott, Mario Petrucci, Katrina Naomi and Alasdair Paterson.
