C.D. Wright Women Writers Conference 2019 Call for Proposals deadline
April 5, 2019
In the wake of the #MeToo movement, the 2017 Women’s March, and the current Women’s Wave in the U.S. House of Representatives, women from diverse backgrounds are working together to empower each other. This work is galvanizing discourse and practice across many fields. The results of this synergy are palpable in the workforce, in politics, in the creative arts, and in the home. The time is now to redouble our efforts, together.
The C.D. Wright Women Writers Conference invites proposals for presentations at the annual conference to be held November 8–9, 2019 at the University of Central Arkansas.
?
Inspired by C. D. Wright’s legacy, the conference’s mission is to recognize, promote, and encourage a diverse range of women writers, including any writer who identifies as female. The conference values the opportunity to develop an intersectional community that includes African American and Black, Latinx and Chicanx, Asian American, disabled, LGBTQ and non-binary, immigrant, native, rural, and resource-poor women writers.
Participants will explore opportunities, challenges, and trends specific to women writers through keynote presentations, panel discussions, craft talks, a book fair, and workshops led by contemporary authors. The conference will offer writers a space to gather for inspiration, further education, support, and networking.
