Title: The Poetics of Justice: A Conversation Between Claudia Rankine and Dionne Brand

Date: April 25, 2017

Location: New York, New York, US
Description: Barnard Center for Research on Women (BCRW) is thrilled to host The Poetics of Justice: A Conversation Between Claudia Rankine and Dionne Brand, moderated by BCRW Associate Director Tami Navarro, on the power and necessity of poetry in resisting the contemporary manifestations of racism, anti-blackness, and white supremacy.

This event is a response to the current political moment in the United States, and has its roots in a BCRW literary series initiated in 2014, Caribbean Feminisms on the Page. These earlier conversations featured authors thinking through their engagements with the Caribbean and its diaspora and their experiences as women writing in and about the region.
