University of the Fraser Valley Writer in Residence application deadline
August 15, 2019
The Writer in Residence at the University of the Fraser Valley (also known as the Kuldip Gill Writing Fellowship) term lasts for eleven weeks, between January and April each year. Candidates should have a substantial publishing record, including two books (or the equivalent) with a recognized publisher.
The program aims to balance the writer’s public engagement with his or her own writing practice. While the primary function of a writing residency is to provide the writer with an extended period of time to concentrate on his or her own writing, the program also provides opportunities for the writer to interact extensively with the UFV community, enabling this audience’s appreciation and understanding of both the writer’s work and contemporary Canadian writing.
