Centenary birthday of poet Al Purdy

December 30, 2018 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of beloved Canadian poet Al Purdy. In a writing career spanning 56 years, Purdy’s works included 39 books of poetry, a novel, two volumes of memoirs and four books of correspondence, in addition to posthumous works. He passed away at age 81 in 2000.
