The fourth annual Newcastle Poetry Festival offers its most ambitious programme yet. In a socio-political age increasingly marked by division, the festival considers the fundamental question of what connects us, and the programme reflects responses which are diverse, complex and inspiring.
Join a four-day celebration of the finest poetry from around the world by some of the art’s most acclaimed practitioners, involving readings, lectures, discussions, workshops, and multi-genre performances (music, painting, film), with the theme of crossings – between countries, languages, and art forms – at its heart. Participants include Neil Astley, Carolyn Forché, Jorie Graham, Fanny Howe, Tyehimba Jess and many more.
