The Griffin Poetry Prize Announces the 2019 International and Canadian Shortlist

TORONTO – April 9, 2019 – Scott Griffin, on behalf of the trustees of The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry, is pleased to announce the International and Canadian shortlist for this year’s prize. Judges Ulrikka Gernes (Denmark), Srikanth Reddy (USA), and Kim Maltman (Canada) each read 510 books of poetry, from 32 countries, including 37 translations.

Debths by Susan Howe and This Wound is a World by Billy-Ray Belcourt Win the 2018 Griffin Poetry Prize

TORONTO – Thursday, June 7, 2018Debths by Susan Howe and This Wound is a World by Billy-Ray Belcourt are the International and Canadian winners of the 2018 Griffin Poetry Prize. They each received C$65,000 in prize money.

The Griffin Poetry Prize Announces the 2018 International and Canadian Shortlist

The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry announces Ana Blandiana as its twelfth Lifetime Recognition Award Recipient

TORONTO – Wednesday, October 11, 2017 – Romanian poet, essayist, and political figure Ana Blandiana will be honoured with The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry’s Lifetime Recognition Award at the 2018 Griffin Poetry Prize Shortlist Readings on June 6, 2018. Ana will be attending the events in Toronto, and will read at the Griffin Poetry Prize Awards Evening on June 7, 2018.

Cork International Poetry Festival Presents an Evening of Griffin Poetry

TORONTO – February 8, 2017 – The 2017 Cork International Poetry Festival has invited The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry to present a showcase of Griffin nominees, winners, trustees, and judges in a series of readings and discussions, which will take place on February 17, 2017. The annual Cork International Poetry Festival is known for its wide-ranging programming, which includes both emerging and established poets selected from Ireland, Europe, North America, and beyond.
